This image is of a barn at Gorman Heritage Farms outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. The old barn has some newer replacement planks and the door is open -- reminding me of being asked as a child if I grew up in a barn when the door didn't close behind me.
This image was created by heavily altering an underlying photograph.
I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
