Description
The Cranston Memorial Church in New Richmond, Ohio was built in 1856 but services were held at the site starting in 1821. Abolitionists began meeting here in 1836 and one of the church's first pastors died while leafleting anti-slavery materials in Nashville, Tennessee. The congregation also hosted famous abolitionist speakers. The building is now a stop on an underground railroad tour.
