This abstract piece is a textured digital painting created using rough brushes and paint drips in navy blue, hunter green, pale pink, and very light yellow on a rust orange background. This improvisational artwork is titled anachronistic as the colors were taken from a painting of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "La Ghirlandata" but the piece an abstract one and bares no resemblance to the work of that famous member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
