This image is based on a photograph of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, also called locally the Big Mac Bridge because of its golden arches. The steel bowstring arch bridge connects Cincinnati, Ohio to Newport ,Kentucky with I-471. This view is as seen from the top of Mt. Adams in Cincinnati looking over to Newport
About Bentley Davis
I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
