Artist's Description
Two different types of bees share a meal on the same flower -- a sea holly. The flower is a beautiful purple and reminds me of a thistle. It must be tasty because there are two bees collecting pollen. The bees are yellow and black.
About Bentley Davis

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
