This abstract landscape began as a photo of flowering trees taken in March in the historic Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have altered that photo with layer upon layer so the original is no longer recognizable -- though there are still trees. Now those trees are awash in impressionistic color.

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
