This abstract digital painting is an improvisation in shades of grey, yellow, and tamarind.

As a nonobjective abstract work, it isn't "of" anything. But for context, I was thinking of how many of the most joyous occasions have a touch of sadness -- as they signal an end to something and a beginning of something better.

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
