Artist's Description
This abstract digital painting is an improvisation in shades of green and grey. One a square canvas, it has organic, curved lines with fine vertical lines in the background.
I have long loved the song Greensleeves in many of its versions. But as one who also loves jazz, Coltrane's version is my favorite. This improvisational piece is inspired by listening to that incredible work of musical improvisation.
About Bentley Davis

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
