This abstract piece is an improvisation primarily in shades of blue -- from sky blue to cerulean blue to a blue so dark it is almost black. There are also spots of very light and very dark yellow and a splash of teal. The work is highly textured, so I would recommend using the zoom tool to see the details.

I am a Cincinnati, Ohio based artist. I work in vitreous enamel, painting, and photography. My art is improvisational. Like jazz music, it requires expertise but also fluidity and experimentation. And as a feminist who believes, following Audre Lorde, that Poetry is not a Luxury, I see artistic self-expression as a way to be human and whole. Creating works of art and photography offers me an opportunity to give shape to my place in the world. The work I do is quite diverse as my interests are diverse. My art has been exhibited in several juried exhibits in museums and galleries around the country.
