I first read the Awakening when I was 16 and the book has always resonated with me -- especially the aforementioned quote. When I created this piece, it was another improvisation digitally painted in shades of green and blue. But when I finished, I was reminded of this quote. May our wings be strong so we can soar above prejudices and create a new world without those prejudices.
