This improvisational abstract piece is a painting created digitally. Created using a predominately cool palette of muted flaxen yellow, patina green, federalist blue, very dark forest green and white, it has a variety of types of brushstrokes.
Some call this kind of art expressionist -- and it is as it certainly is an expression of what I was feeling at the time. But I prefer the term improvisational. Like improvisational music, improvisational art is created in the moment but requires knowledge of the tools and techniques of the field.
While this was created with the intent it would hang on a wall, the piece works well for textiles such as duvet covers, pillows, face masks, or tote bags.
